Still on Track

Finally I get back into the mode of blogging. It is fascinating to watch how life rolls by days into weeks in to months. Perhaps that is what happened here. The good news is I am back at it again and hopefully will keep up this time.
Beginning of this year brought in new aspirations and goals. Of all the changes in my life over the years fortunately my running routine has remained consistent. This year is no different. I'm presently training for Cellcom Marathon in Green Bay. The run is on 15 May, the day when I turn 47. I am hoping to achieve a personal best, hopefully running a sub-4 hour Marathon. Some of you are linked to my Face Book account. I hope you don't find it too annoying when I download the Nike Plus workouts. Over the last few weeks I been able to gradually get up to my maintenance 25-30 miles per week routine. The challenge now is to keep up for this for the next coming months. It is ardous to run in Green Bay during the winter months however I have been able to keep up with out door running at least for my long runs. I am looking forward to last week in March, to be a participatant in a run organized in Nehru Park, New Delhi, India. This is an ultra-marathon 50 K. run, I will be running only half the distance. It would be nice to meet runners in New Delhi, who I have got to know over time given our common interest. Recreational running is still in infancy stage in India, however I have been impressed how many events are being organized now compared to the previous years. In June, I'm hoping to participate in the 10K Bellin Run in Green Bay. This is one of the largest runs of its kind in US, sponsored by my employer Bellin Health. My goal is to finish in the top 10-15% of all runners. Last year this run drew more than 15,000 runners. The fall run would be again Chicago Marathon, my third run through the magnificent Second city. Hopefully I will continue to improve on my time. Registration should close soon, so if you're interested signup soon. And lastly if everything goes to plan I will attempt to run Ice Marathon, in Antarctica this year. Run is being held in late November. This would my 6th continent to cover. Due to the limited available spots for this race, I will be making my mind soon whether my craziness is taking me to the Forbidden Continent.
